MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Hundreds of flights were canceled on Monday in South Florida. More than 4,800 flights were canceled nationwide.
At Miami International Airport, more than 135 flights were canceled, and about 18 flights were delayed.
At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, about 17 flights were delayed, and more than 185 flights were canceled.
As blizzard warnings continued from Maryland to Maine, the National Weather Service meteorologists referred to the travel conditions as “nearly impossible.”
In New York City, there was a ban on non-emergency travel through noon on Monday.
