On the forecast track, Gabrielle is forecast to pass east of Bermuda Monday night.

As of 11 a.m. Monday, Gabrielle was about 180 miles southeast of Bermuda and was moving toward the north near 10 mph.

“A turn toward the north is forecast later today, followed by a faster northeastward or east-northeastward motion on Tuesday,” the National Hurricane Center reported.

According to the NHC, Gabrielle had maximum sustained winds of 120 mph.

No watches or warnings were in effect, but forecasters said interests in Bermuda and the Azores should monitor the progress of Gabrielle.

“Strengthening is forecast over the next day or so, and Gabrielle could become a major hurricane tonight,” the NHC reported.
