Our dry streak is ending with a much-needed wetter weather pattern underway. Today is the transition day with a few pop up showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Not everyone will get the rain and it will be brief for those that do. High temperatures will be as warm as 87°, which is much warmer than average for this time of the year.

Thunderstorms will be more widespread Friday into early next week. Expect rounds of heavy thunderstorms with plenty of dry, sunny time in between. They will be scattered, so some places will naturally get more than others. A widespread 1-3” of rain is expected through Monday with a few localized amounts higher than that. This will be a big help with the ongoing severe to extreme drought.
