Fort Lauderdale police said all roadways at Cordova Road and Southeast 15th Street were closed in all directions and urged drivers to use alternate routes.

Sky 10 flew over the scene around 9:35 a.m., capturing large amounts of water pouring from the intersection as police blocked surrounding roads.

A Local 10 News crew was on scene as workers shut off the water to prevent flooding on nearby roadways. Crews were also seen using an excavator to assist with repairs to the water main break.

Authorities also confirmed that the eastbound lanes of the nearby 17th Street Causeway Bridge were closed due to a “malfunction,” while westbound lanes remained open.

They have not said what caused the water main break or bridge malfunction, or when the roadways and bridge will reopen.
