An award-winning journalist with more than a decade of industry experience, Magdala has reported across the country. She has worked at NBC affiliates in Birmingham, Alabama; Roanoke/Lynchburg, Virginia; and Pocatello, Idaho. She began her career behind the scenes as a production assistant at WJLA in Washington, D.C., where she gained a foundation in newsroom operations and storytelling.

A proud Haitian-American, Magdala was raised in Maryland in a lively household as the only girl among six brothers—an upbringing she credits for her resilience, perspective, and sense of humor.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Frostburg State University in 2013, with minors in journalism and public relations.

Outside of the newsroom, Magdala is passionate about fitness. She’s often up before sunrise getting in a HIIT workout, binge-watching the latest Netflix series, reading by the pool or beach, or exploring South Florida’s vibrant food scene—especially local Haitian restaurants.
