MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Gardens police are investigating a shooting that they said left two people dead and another wounded early Tuesday morning.
Officers said they were dispatched around 12:45 a.m. to the 1900 block of Northwest 175th Street following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police said they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities said a party with approximately 30 people was taking place at an Airbnb when at least three masked individuals fired shots and hit three victims.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported one victim by ground and airlifted two others to a local hospital. Two of the victims later died at the hospital, officials said.
Police said one of the people who died was a teenager and the other was an adult. They also confirmed the surviving victim is a teenager.
Investigators said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the community.
Yechivi spoke with a neighbor who said she was shaken after hearing music playing before shots were fired in what she described as a “quiet neighborhood.”
The homeowner, who asked to remain unidentified, told Local 10 that he did not give the renter permission to hold a party at his home and stated that he started renting his unit through Airbnb and Booking.com.
However, an Airbnb spokesperson later told Local 10 News that the property where the shooting occurred was not rented by their platform.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time. No other details about the shooting were immediately released.
Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
