Small plane reportedly crashes in Coral Springs neighborhood A small plane reportedly crashed Monday morning inside a gated community in Coral Springs.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — A small plane crashed into a pond in Coral Springs on Monday morning.

It happened just after 10:15 a.m. within the gated Windsor Bay neighborhood, located southwest of the Sawgrass Expressway and State Road 7.

Video from Sky 10, taken just before 11 a.m., showed a damaged fence and a debris field.

A dive team was at the scene. Images from Sky 10 also showed an oil slick in the water.

Coral Springs police posted to social media, “We’re currently on scene of a plane crash in the area of 5700 Creekside (Drive). It is an active investigation.”

It wasn’t immediately clear whether anyone was injured or killed. The dive team was unable to recover a plane, large plane parts or any possible victims, Coral Springs Fire Department Deputy Chief Mike Moser said.

Local 10 News has contacted first responders seeking additional information.
