According to Hialeah Fire Rescue Lt. Carlos González, the 57-year-old woman was bitten in several areas of her body.

The incident occurred inside a home located near the 1100 block of West 50th Place, where the family dog — a pit bull named Cesar — turned on one of its owners, severely mauling her.

González said paramedics responded quickly and airlifted the woman to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Her current condition has not yet been released.

Noon report:

Authorities said Miami-Dade County Animal Services assisted HFR and the Hialeah Police Department in the aftermath.

They said the dog’s owner surrendered Cesar to Animal Services, and due to his “aggressive and dangerous behavior, the dog was humanely euthanized.”

MDCAS extended their thoughts to the family and wished the victim a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
