BAL HARBOUR, Fla. — Makoto’s Sushi Chef Aki decided to share some of his secrets during three classes in Bal Harbour.
There was a class on Tuesday afternoon, and there will be two more at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 at the restaurant, at 9700 Collins Ave., in the Bal Harbour Shops.
The class started with a beverage, light bites of edamame, spicy tuna crispy rice, and a bit of Japanese culinary history. It continued with a hands-on lesson at the restaurant’s 16-seat sushi counter with maki and temaki rolls. It ends with delicious mochi and a certificate ceremony.
The culinary experience requires a $195 pre-paid fee per person, excluding taxes and gratuity. For more information about the class and for reservations, visit the OpenTable page.
