Andrew Perez is a South Florida native who joined the Local 10 News team in May 2014.
He returns home after spending three unforgettable years at WALA-TV, the Fox affiliate in the Mobile, Alabama-Pensacola, Florida market. There he led WALA's primetime newscasts as a general assignment/investigative reporter and fill-in anchor.
Andrew won an ABBY Award for his series on missing mother Brittney Wood. He covered the April 27 tornados in Tuscaloosa, the stranded Carnival Triumph's return to Mobile and the Midland City hostage situation, among other stories.
Prior to WALA, Andrew worked behind the scenes in Miami and at WABC-TV in New York, where he went to school.
Andrew graduated from Manhattanville College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in communications and a double minor in political science and film study. He also spent a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain, as part of his studies.
Andrew says he is excited to be back in South Florida with his "big, crazy, Cuban family."
