MIAMI — Two people were injured Thursday after a head-on crash along Southwest Eighth Street and Southwest 157th Avenue in west Miami-Dade.

The crash involved a pickup truck and an SUV.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said crews arrived to find one person trapped inside one of the vehicles, who they had to extricate.

First responders confirmed two people were transported by ground to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The roadway was closed for hours Thursday, but all lanes have since reopened.
