MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Drivers traveling through the Venetian Islands should expect significant traffic impacts Wednesday afternoon as the Secret Service coordinates intermittent and extended road closures in the area.
According to Miami Beach police, a “hard closure” will be in effect at Venetian Way and West San Marino Drive from 2 p.m. until approximately 8 p.m.
The closures are being implemented in coordination with the Miami Beach Police Department and the City of Miami Police Department.
Authorities say the closures will primarily affect residents of the Venetian Islands, but drivers traveling between Miami and Miami Beach are urged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and seek alternate routes if possible.
The Secret Service has not yet confirmed why they are implementing the road closures or who might be visiting the area.
