The Broward State Attorney’s Office has now suffered two back-to-back Parkland school shooting trial defeats.
Former Parkland school resource Deputy Scot Peterson was found not guilty Thursday on all 11 counts against him related to the Feb. 14, 2018, mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Thursday marked Day 9 in the trial of former Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputy Scot Peterson, who is accused of taking cover as the Parkland school shooter killed six people and injured four others on the third floor of the 1200 Building.
The trial continues Tuesday for the former Parkland school resource deputy who is charged with failing to confront school shooter Nikolas Cruz as he killed six people and injured four others on the third floor of the 1200 Building at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14, 2018.

“I’ll never forget the day,” Scot Peterson said of the Feb. 14, 2018 Parkland mass shooting. “Not only kids died. I had friends that died. Never for a second would I sit there and allow anyone to die knowing that animal was up in the building. Never.”
