PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — This weekend we saw the stunning culmination to months of escalating actions against Venezuela and its president, Nicolas Maduro.
The U.S. military conducted a covert, strategic, precision raid at Maduro’s residence in the early hours Saturday as federal agents arresting the Venezuelan president and his wife, extricating them first to an Naval aircraft carrier, then taking them by air to New York, where they remain in federal detention in Brooklyn to face the years-long indictment, which names Venezuela’s dictator as the head of a hemisphere-wide narco-trafficking network.
U.S. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, a Republican who represents parts of Miami-Dade County, joined “This Week in South Florida” host Glenna Milberg to discuss, and their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
