FIFA announced Mexico’s national team is part of the World Cup’s Group A, and is set to play the first three matches on June 11, 18, and 24.

Javier Aguirre, the coach of the World Cup’s co-host, told The Associated Press that Group A included some tough opponents.

  2. South Africa (61)
  3. South Korea (22)
  4. UEFA Playoff D winner

“We faced Korea and they are not an easy team. They do their job. They are disciplined and organized,” Aguirre said, adding, “South Africa is not easy either. They are good teams, but we have a chance, we are at home and with our people.”

Playoffs in March

The UEFA Playoff D includes Denmark, North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, and Ireland.

Denmark will play against North Macedonia, and the Czech Republic will play against Ireland during the semi-finals. The final is on March 31.

Day 1 of Group A matches

Mexico’s opener against South Africa is at 3 p.m. on June 11 in Mexico City.

South Korea plays the winner of the UEFA Playoff D at 10 p.m. on June 11 in Guadalajara.

Day 2 of Group A matches

The UEFA Playoff D winner plays South Africa at noon on June 18 in Atlanta.

Mexico plays South Korea at 9 p.m. on June 18 in Guadalajara.

Day 3 of Group A matches

The UEFA Playoff D winner plays against Mexico at 9 p.m. on June 24 in Mexico City.

South Africa plays against South Korea at 9 p.m. on June 24 in Monterrey.
