MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Dolphins cornerback Artie Burns suffered a torn ACL after injuring his knee during practice Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed Thursday.
Burns, a veteran who signed with the Dolphins earlier this offseason, left practice on crutches after colliding with another player during back-pedal drills in warmups.
The injury adds to a tough start to training camp for Miami, which also saw offensive tackle Bayron Matos airlifted to the hospital after going down during practice.
Burns, who is expected to miss the entire 2025 season, further depletes a cornerback unit that has already seen turnover.
The Dolphins traded Jalen Ramsey to the Pittsburgh Steelers last month and opted not to re-sign veteran Kendall Fuller.
Miami may now look to free agency to bolster their secondary.
