Dolphins placing Tua Tagovailoa on IR, will miss at least next four games

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is going on injured reserve.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins placing Tagovailoa on IR due to the concussion he suffered during last Thursday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Tagovailoa, while running for a first down, collided with Bills safety Damar Hamlin and was immediately removed from the game.

During his four year NFL career, Tagovailoa has now suffered three documented concussions. He said he has no plans to retire.

Due to going on IR, Tagovailoa will miss at least Miami’s next four games.

He will be next eligible to play when Miami hosts the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 27.

Backup QB Stylar Thompson has been named the Dolphins starter for Week 3 when Miami travels to face the Seattle Seahawks.
