Lululemon sues Costco over alleged ‘copycat’ pants

Lululemon has filed a lawsuit against Costco alleging the wholesaler is selling “unlawfully traded” versions of its signature athleisure apparel.

According to a lawsuit filed on Friday, Lululemon alleges that the wholesaler is “employing knockoff versions” of its pants, hoodies and jackets.

Lululemon sells its Scuba hoodie for $118, according to its website. The lawsuit said Costco sells a similar version for about $8.

In the filing, Lululemon said Costco is leading customers to believe the Kirkland Signature brand products are made by the same manufacturers.

According to the apparel company, six products, which include five hoodies’ and jackets from Danskin and Jockey and a Kirkland Signature pair of leggings.
