Deputies arrest man accused of making bomb threat on JetBlue plane at FLL, BSO says

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Deputies in Broward County arrested a man on Sunday after an alleged bomb threat was made on an aircraft.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Terminal Four at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport just before 10 a.m. in reference to a passenger on a Jet Blue flight making a verbal threat.

Authorities said they took a man into custody who made a bomb threat.

He has since been identified as 76-year-old Robert Albanese.

The plane was evacuated as a precaution, and a K9 unit was brought in that determined there was no bomb.

Passengers were then brought back onto the plane, which eventually took off.

Albanese was not listed among Broward County inmates as of Sunday afternoon.
