Pro dancer from South Florida performs during Super Bowl LX Halftime Show

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Super Bowl LX is in the can, and much of the talk since has been about the halftime show featuring global superstar Bad Bunny.

Dancing alongside the Latin star was South Florida’s Chris Hernandez, who is still on a career high.

“Home for me is Miami, always has been, born and raised,” he said.

Hernandez is a graduate from Dr. Michael M Krop Senior High School, but he’s been dancing and practicing for this big moment all of his life.

One of his first big breaks was dancing during the Miami Heat’s halftime show when he was only 9 years old.

“I Just remember learning choreography,” he said.

Hernandez has also worked on Broadway, performing in Gloria Estefan’s show and working in productions with Jennifer Lopez.

It all came to a head when the call came to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in San Francisco.

“You get there and everything is this huge surprise, guests you don’t know until the week of,” he said.

Hernandez said the performances involved rehearsing for eight hours a day for a month straight.

“It felt bigger than me,” he said.

As far as working with one of the biggest starts in the world, Hernandez said Bad Bunny made it easy.

“Honestly, it’s like he’s a gentle giant,” he said, “Soft-spoken, very thoughtful.”
