PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Powerball tickets are going fast at gas stations and supermarkets across South Florida.
Monday’s drawing carries a potential jackpot of $1.6 billion, which holds an estimated cash value of $735 million.
It’s the fifth largest prize ever for a Powerball drawing, and the second jackpot in a row to climb over a billion dollars.
The last winning ticket was drawn back on Sept. 6.
Since then, 46 drawings have come and gone without a winner.

The drawing takes place at 11 p.m.
