PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Pembroke Pines police investigated a serious crash Monday morning.
The two-car crash happened at Pines Boulevard and Northwest 76th Avenue, both of which were shut down in the wake of the wreck.
Both vehicles were damaged: one slammed into a light pole, while the other hit a fire hydrant.
Crews had to extricate one person from a vehicle. Two people were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital as trauma alert patients.
Florida Power & Light secured the damaged pole, while public works crews shut off water.
The scene was turned over to Pembroke Pines police as the investigation continues.
