MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Miami Beach firefighters are making sure no child is left without a smile this holiday season.
They are teaming up with the city’s parks and recreation department for the first time, providing toys to local students.
“We do a combination of toy drop boxes spread at some local businesses that we partner with, along with donations from our firefighters and other businesses in the community,” said Miami Beach Fire Rescue Training-Chief Victor White.
The event took place on Sunday morning.
Santa Claus arrived in true Miami Beach style, riding in on a fire truck as kids cheered and waited for their turn to visit with him.
Firefighters are inside the station garage handed out brand-new toys to local families from South Pointe Elementary, Fienberg-Fisher K-8, and Biscayne Beach Elementary.
This event was hosted by the Miami Beach Firefighters Benevolent Association, a group of firefighters dedicated to giving back and supporting local families in need.
