‘These guys are pros’: Owner of stolen flatbed hopes video helps police find culprits

Owner of stolen $30K flatbed hopes surveillance video helps police find culprits

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — An International flatbed truck worth $30,000 was stolen in the middle of the night in Coral Springs.

Surveillance video captured the pair of crooks driving away with the stolen vehicle.

Now, owner Larry Berge wants answers.

“These guys are pros,” he said. “I see my tow truck gone, and I’m like, ‘Wow, maybe one of my guys took it.’ At that point, I realized it was stolen.”

It happened on Nov. 19 in a busy warehouse area just off the Sawgrass Expressway near Sample Road.

Police said the suspects arrived in a pickup truck seen on security footage. They start snooping around before the video shows them going under the flatbed.

Berge thinks they were checking for trackers, which owners frequently put on their trucks for extra security.

This flatbed did not have one.

“Once they started it, if there was a tracker, I would have been notified,” said Berge.

The pair came back and used their own keys to get in and drive off with the truck.

“These internationals, five or six keys fit them all,” said Berge. “They came back an hour later and they took it.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
