MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — An arrest has been made following a double shooting in northwest Miami-Dade.
It happened on Jan. 5 along the 3100 block of Northwest 28th Street, just east of Miami International Airport.
Initially, deputies responded to the scene and found two men who had been shot.
Both were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators have since charged 41-year-old Wilmer Ulloa with attempted murder and battery.
According to an arrest report, Ulloa and his nephew were driving home from work together when they got into an argument “involving women”, which escalated to the point that Ulloa, who was driving, struck the victim several times while the car was in motion.
Authorities said the victim got out and walked the rest of the way home, and after arriving, the confrontation between the two continued until Ulloa pulled a gun and fired a shot at the victim, hitting him in the shoulder.
Ulloa then turned the gun on himself, deputies said, causing an injury to his lower jaw area.
He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Wednesday night, where his bond is listed as “to be set.”
