MIAMI — A 64-year-old Miami man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly pointed a gun at his neighbor while claiming that the victim was a Russian spy, authorities said.

According to an arrest report obtained Monday by Local 10 News, the incident occurred at about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of Southwest 32nd Avenue.

Miami police said the victim told officers that he was parking his vehicle outside his residence when his neighbor, Jorge Antonio Gomez, approached him while pointing a gun at him.

The victim said Gomez then began yelling, “I know you are following me. I will call the police. You are a Russian spy.”

According to the report, the victim, who was in fear for his safety, began walking toward his efficiency, which is located in the rear of the property.

He said Gomez followed him while still pointing the gun at him and making similar accusations.

Police said after the victim entered his unit, Gomez went to his own efficiency on the property.

According to the report, Gomez refused to provide a statement to police, saying he “didn’t understand what was happening.”

Gomez was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm.

As of Monday morning, he was being held at the Metrowest Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
