POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A shooting Tuesday night that occurred outside a McDonald’s in Pompano Beach left one person dead and another wounded, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Deputires said 911 dispatchers received reports of a shooting around 7:30 p.m. near the 600 block of West Sample Road.
Deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue arrived to find a man, identified as Tyrone Holton, 52, with a gunshot wound.
Authoriries said Holton was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
They said a second gunshot victim was also taken to a nearby hospital by another individual.
BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Several McDonald’s employees left for the night around 8:30 p.m., although the restaurant is typically open 24 hours. It reopened Wednesday morning.
No other details about the victims or a possible suspect or suspects were immediately released.
