Police: Suspect, victim hospitalized after Homestead stabbing

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — A woman is facing attempted murder charges after a stabbing early Saturday that left both the victim and the suspect hospitalized, according to the Homestead Police Department.

Officers responded in the 1500 block of Southeast 24th Court, near Mayor Roscoe Warren Municipal Park around 6:14 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the victim and the suspect to Jackson South Hospital.

Police said investigators with the department’s General Investigation Unit later arrested 24-year-old Ivette Isabel Padilla. She is charged with armed burglary and attempted murder.

Padilla remains hospitalized at Jackson South in stable condition, along with the victim.

Once she is released, police said she will be transported to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
