According to the Florida Department of Transportation, all eastbound lanes on the highway were closed earlier in the morning at Northwest 17th Avenue and were initially expected to remain closed until about noon.

Construction has been ongoing on the highway and while there have been standard overnight closures, all lanes typically reopen by 5:30 a.m.

One westbound left lane was also closed Friday morning from Interstate 95 to west of Northwest 12th Avenue.

FDOT officials said the lanes were temporarily closed as crews worked to remove a “precast cap segment” from the roadway.

All lanes reopened shortly before 10 a.m.
