Tens of thousands of mail ballots heading to Miami-Dade voters

Vote-by-mail ballots heading out in Miami-Dade

DORAL, Fla. — On Monday morning, Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections staff moved roughly 41,000 vote-by-mail ballots from its Doral warehouse onto a mail truck.

It officially kicks off mailings for the Dec. 9 municipal runoffs elections in Hialeah, Miami and Miami Beach.

Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia spoke afterward. She emphasized transparency and voter confidence.

“The important thing is that you vote,” Garcia said. “Our elected officials, the governor, they’ve all worked to make sure that we have safe and secure vote-by-mail ballots.”

Voters have until Nov. 27 to request a mail-in ballot.

All ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
