Authorities say 21-year-old Maurice Harrison, aka Girlalala, was shot and killed on Friday inside a car by her boyfriend, 25-year-old Shanoyd Whyte Jr., during an argument.

It happened Friday shortly before 7 p.m. in the area of the 3300 block of Northwest 37th Street in Lauderdale Lakes.

Investigators said Whyte and Harrison had been in a relationship for several years.

A key piece of evidence that was turned over to investigators is video from a Tesla door camera that allegedly shows the final argument and the moment the shooting happened.

Harrison had hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok. Her family was too upset to do an interview, but told Local 10 News:

“As a family we appreciate every prayer, kind thought, and gesture during our time of bereavement. Now, we are just praying that justice is served to the fullest degree.”

It’s a family that has had to deal with gun violence before.

Just over a years ago, Harrison’s brother was also fatally shot.

Whyte Jr. remains behind bars after being granted no bond by a judge on Monday.
