It happened at approximately 6:37 p.m. in the area of 76th Street and North Miami Avenue.

According to police, responding officers found a 30-year-old man who had been shot in the buttocks, but they found him a few blocks away, near 71st Street and North Miami Avenue.

Video surveillance obtained by Local 10 News shows a man on a bicycle crossing the intersection, then turning the corner and riding just a few yards before abruptly dropping the bike and darting across the street.

Fifteen seconds later, flashing lights appear as officers arrived at the scene.

The victim was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where police said he remained in critical condition as of Wednesday morning.

Nearby, police tape was stretched across the street, closing off traffic for hours.

Investigation ongoing after man shot in Miami

Authorities have not said whether they are seeking any suspects or persons of interest.
