There was a sea of yellow T-shirts to honor the memory of the avid runner on Saturday morning at the Brian Piccolo Park in Cooper City.

“The absolutely surreal scene: So many people come out to support your father,” said Becker’s son Brian Becker, who added that the event raised about $15,000.

Hundreds turned out for the Becker Strong 5K, the second since his death, to help support sarcoma cancer research and students’ scholarships.
