NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief after a domestic disturbance in North Lauderdale, officials said.
Detectives said Deputy Randall Saintilus was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with a pregnant woman over his alleged infidelity.
Investigators said Saintilus caused the woman to fall down a staircase, injuring her back.
Authorities also learned of previous incidents of domestic violence involving Saintilus, including one where he broke the victim’s phone.
Saintilus, hired by the sheriff’s office in 2018, was booked into the Broward Main Jail and placed on unpaid administrative leave. Sheriff Gregory Tony said the agency has “zero tolerance for domestic violence.”
The investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, a lieutenant with the Hollywood Police Department was also arrested this week on two counts of domestic battery on a person 65 years of age or older, authorities confirmed.
