MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The 2025 NFL trade deadline has come and gone, and despite several rumors surrounding the Miami Dolphins, the team had a quiet day.

On Monday, the team sent EDGE rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick.

That would be Miami’s only move at the deadline, electing to keep pass-rusher Bradley Chubb, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, running back De’Von Achane, and linebacker Jordyn Brooks, among others.

Phillips, 26, was drafted by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and played his college football at the University of Miami.

Phillips will reunite with Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who coordinated the Dolphins’ defense in 2023 – a season in which Phillips posted 6.5 sacks in just eight games before tearing his Achilles in a November game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

“I love Vic as a person and as a coach,” Phillips said. “I had some good success with him. Excited to get back into his system and play with other guys on defense, too.”

The Denver Broncos, at 6-2, reportedly reached out to the Dolphins to inquire about acquiring Waddle – leading the team in receiving yards (586).

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, “Miami’s asking price was simply too high.”

It was previously reported that if the Dolphins were to trade Waddle, the return would have to be a ‘1-plus,’ meaning a first-round pick and additional draft compensation.

The same applied to Achane, who leads the Dolphins in rushing yards (606) and is averaging 67.3 yards per game.

Chubb, acquired via trade in 2022, is healthy for the first time since suffering a serious knee injury in a December 2023 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Chubb has two years remaining on his contract, but no guaranteed money, which made him the likeliest to be dealt.

The Dolphins will host the Buffalo Bills at 1 p.m. ET Nov. 9 at Hard Rock Stadium – where the team will seek its first win against Buffalo since Week 3 of the 2022 season, head coach Mike McDaniel’s first year.
