3 in custody after shooting reported in parking lot of Opa-locka nightclub

Shooting reported near Opa-locka nightclub Police swarmed to the scene of a shooting early Wednesday morning in Opa-locka, blocking off a nightclub with crime scene tape as they investigated the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. — Three people were taken into custody and two guns were recovered following an early morning shooting outside a nightclub in Opa-locka, authorities confirmed.

According to Opa-locka police, the shooting was reported in the parking lot of Klub24, located along Northwest 135th Street and 42nd Avenue, near the Miami–Opa Locka Executive Airport.

Witnesses at the scene told Local 10’s Linnie Supall that the shooting occurred around 2 a.m.

Klub24, a 24-hour nightclub, closed after the shooting as police roped off the business with crime scene tape.

According to police, officers quickly secured the scene and ensured that no one was injured.

Three people were detained, however their identities were not immediately released and it’s unclear whether they will be formally charged in the shooting.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
