MIAMI — A sweet Halloween tradition is back at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
Thanks to Spirit Halloween’s “Spirit of Children” program, young patients and their siblings got to pick out costumes, enjoy treats, and meet surprise characters.
The event is all about bringing smiles and a sense of normalcy to kids spending Halloween in the hospital.
“Their mission is to make kids feel like kids,” said Justin Graham, Spirit of Children event leader. “We’ve donated a bunch of costumes for the kids to pick out. We had activities and crafts for the kids to participate in, so that the kids can experience Halloween despite their journey in the hospital.”
Spirit Halloween has raised more than $1.2 million for Nicklaus Children’s over the years, helping make hospitals a little less scary for kids.
