First responders transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center. Police said he was conscious and breathing at the time.

“They started that speaker or whatever -- Come out, hands up,’” Janet Lewis, who lives at the home, said.

“I was thinking there’s trouble in the house. I didn’t want to leave my room,” Gary Dorfman, who also lives there, said.

Police confirmed that the suspect was detained at the scene.

He was identified by police only as a 50-year-old Black man.

“The same guy that did the stabbing beat a guy three weeks ago with a stick,” Dorfman said.

Local 10 News was at the scene as the suspect was placed in handcuffs.

Police said it appears the men got into some kind of a fight that led to the stabbing, but they’re still investigating why they were fighting and how it escalated.

Police said there was blood throughout the house after the stabbing.

The victim’s condition has not yet been released.
