MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — A 75-year-old man was hurt Monday morning after a Brightline train slammed into a lawn tractor at the Miami Shores Country Club.

The crash happened at around 10:45 a.m. at an unprotected crossing within the golf course, which is located at 10000 Biscayne Blvd. and bisected by the railway line.

Video from Sky 10 showed first responders from the Miami Shores Police Department and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue along the course.

An MSPD spokesperson said the man jumped off the John Deere when he realized the train was approaching and he wouldn’t be able to make it across the tracks.

Police said he was taken to a hospital to be checked out after hitting his left side.
