According to Hialeah police, the shooting occurred around 12:40 p.m. on Sept. 10 in the parking lot of an apartment building at 2265 W. Fourth Court.

Police said the suspect, Fletcher Deno Jimeson, 47, who lives at the apartment building, got into an argument with another man in the parking lot, during which time Jimeson pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the forehead.

The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died on Sept. 14.

According to an arrest report, detectives conducted a walk-through of the crime scene and found a .45 caliber casing about 30 feet west of where the victim was located.

Police said the shooting was captured on video and shows the victim interacting with three males before he starts to walk away.

Fletcher is then seen in the video raising his arm and firing one shot at the victim, the report stated.

Police said the victim immediately fell to the ground and the three males fled the scene.

According to the report, three Hialeah police officers identified Fletcher in the video, who they said is a known career criminal.

One officer has personally known Fletcher for more than a decade, the report stated.

According to the report, Fletcher has been a convicted felon since April 29, 1998 when he was convicted of manslaughter with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to 15 years in state prison for that shooting and is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.

Fletcher was accompanied by his attorney when he turned himself in to authorities Monday and invoked his right to remain silent.

He faces charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm/ammunition by a convicted felon.

As of Tuesday morning, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
