Victim speaks after being attacked by 70-year-old in road rage incident, police say

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. — A man police say was victimized by a 70-year-old driver in a road rage incident in Sunny Isles Beach is speaking about what happened.

Police said Aliaksandr Miknho was driving in Sunny Isles Beach on Sept. 20 when he honked his horn at a driver along Collins Avenue, telling him he could make a left turn.

Police said Ramon Martinez got out of his car, argued with the man in Spanish and punched him in the face.

Miknho likened the Hialeah senior’s strength to that of Superman.

“All his weight was on his fist,” Miknho said. “So I didn’t expect it. I just covered like this.”

Ramon Martinez Police officers arrested Ramon Martinez on Sept. 20 in Sunny Isles Beach.

Bystanders “just started to scream, ‘What the hell is going on?’” Miknho said.

Miknho moved his car forward, trying to get away, and smashed into Martinez’s car.

“I just, with the reflex, just removed my foot from the brake pedal and my car moved and hit him,” he said.

Police arrested Martinez on a charge of burglary with assault or battery.

“Oh, I didn’t expect (it), especially in Sunny Isles, yeah, so now you have damage on my face, damage on my car, the same side,” Miknho said.

Law enforcement agencies advise drivers to not engage with aggressors in road rage incidents.
