BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit released an image Tuesday of the suspected gunman who they say is wanted in the 2021 fatal shooting of a Pompano Beach man in unincorporated central Broward, as they renew calls for the public’s help in the case.

Deputies responded around 12:40 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2021, to a ShotSpotter alert near the 600 block of Northwest 27th Avenue.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found 46-year-old Maurice Moss suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators said paramedics with Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed Moss to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was treated.

Two days later, on Nov. 22, Moss was pronounced dead, and homicide detectives took over the investigation, according to authorities.

Nearly three years later, BSO has released an image showing the alleged suspect in hopes of generating new leads.

Detectives said the gunman was wearing a blue long-sleeved jacket or sweater with white stripes on the sleeves, light blue pants, black shoes, blue gloves and possibly a mask.

A motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact BSO Homicide Det. Kevin Nitsch at 954-321-4876 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.
