CUTLER BAY, Fla. — One person died and another was injured Friday morning following a house fire in Cutler Bay, authorities confirmed.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, the fire was reported at about 5:50 a.m. at a home in the 9700 block of Montego Bay Drive.
“Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from all sides of a home and immediately initiated a fast attack to extinguish the flames,” MDFR told Local 10 News in an email. “Firefighters entered the structure to locate two occupants who were inside at the time of the fire.”

Firefighters said they helped one victim out of the home while the other self-evacuated.
Both were transported to local hospitals, where one died, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The fire has since been extinguished, and the cause remains under investigation.
Authorities confirmed MDSO Homicide, MDSO Arson, and MDFR Arson units are all investigating the blaze.
