Video shows what happened before and after woman's fall from bridge

MIAMI — Video obtained by Local 10 News shows the moments before and after a woman’s plunge from Miami’s Brickell Avenue Bridge.

It happened on June 28. The 49-year-old woman, said to be acting erratically, clung to the top of the open drawbridge but lost her grip and fell.

The attendant told police that he asked the woman to remove herself from the bridge at one point.

The video shows her lying down on the bridge.

The bridge attendant told police he couldn’t see the woman when she lay down because the barrier was blocking his view.

The women held on as the bridge rose, but eventually fell.

Witnesses rushed to her within a minute and first responders arrived within five minutes.

11 minutes after they arrived, medics rolled the woman away on a stretcher.

The woman who fell had been hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Local 10 News contacted her attorney seeking an update on her condition but had not heard back as of Friday afternoon.
