Driver pulled from water after car goes into North Lauderdale canal

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fire rescue personnel pulled an injured driver out of an overturned car in a canal on Thursday in North Lauderdale.

The driver crashed into the canal near Avon Lane and West McNab Road, according to the North Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department.

A helicopter flew the man to Broward Health North in critical condition, according first responders.

Authorities said no other victims were in the water, as a drone was deployed and no heat signatures for additional victims were detected.
