Investigators said U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers conducted a border search on Demero Nelson, 33, of Foley, Alabama, after he arrived on a Spirit Airlines flight from Montego Bay.

Authorities said they saw videos of Nelson performing sex acts on a 16-year-old girl and found that he was in a group chat on the messaging app Telegram where users would share images and videos of young girls being sexually abused.

Authorities said Nelson admitted to viewing and receiving the illicit content, telling investigators that “he enjoyed seeing the videos and pictures of young girls.”

Facing charges related to the transportation and possession of child sexual abuse material, Nelson had been scheduled to appear in Fort Lauderdale federal court on Friday morning, online records show.

As of Friday, Nelson was being held in the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail facility on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service, online records show.
