Deputies search for sexual assault subject who climbed into young girl’s bedroom

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Miami-Dade County are trying to locate a suspect wanted for sex crimes against a juvenile.

The crime was reported at approximately 6:40 p.m. last Friday in a neighborhood off Northeast 207th Lane and Fourth Place.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, a young girl was sleeping in her bedroom when she was awakened by strange movement on her bed.

The victim told deputies she found a person she did not know trying to remove her shorts, and she struck him in the groin and started screaming.

Police said the subject then took off through a bedroom window in an unknown direction.

He is described as a Black male between 15 and 19 years old, around 5-foot-11 or 6-feet tall with a thin build, last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, light-colored or gray pants and a white, full face ski mask.

*Editor’s note: A news release issued by MDSO initially stated that the crime occurred in the area Northeast 208th Street and Fifth Place, where the gated Paseos community is located. Deputies later confirmed that the crime, in fact, had occurred nearby in the area of Northeast 207th Lane and Fourth Place.
