Crash also claimed life of 13-year-old, whose name hasn’t been released

MIAMI — A 7-year-old girl who was part of a prominent Argentine show business family was among the two children killed in Monday’s deadly boat crash in Biscayne Bay, according to media reports in the South American country.

According to the newspaper La Nacion, Mila Yankelevich was the daughter of Argentine TV producer Tomas Yankelevich and actress Sofia Reca, and the granddaughter of TV producer Gustavo Yankelevich and actress Cris Morena.

Mila was attending a summer sailing camp organized by the Miami Yacht Club. The sailboat she was on collided with a barge north of Miami Beach’s Hibiscus Island.

Mila, and a 13-year-old girl who has not been publicly identified, were killed. Two other girls, aged 8 and 10, were in critical condition as of Tuesday.

According to prayer chats that have been circulating, the 10-year-old was on life support as of Tuesday.

Another child and a 19-year-old counselor weren’t seriously hurt.

The crash remained under investigation by the U.S. Coast Guard as of Tuesday.

Coast Guard officials said they believe all of the children were wearing life vests at the time of the crash.
