MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities are searching for a man who they believe stabbed a woman in a violent domestic-related attack Thursday morning in northwest Miami-Dade.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office detectives on Friday issued a warrant for Manuel Salgado Pena, 53, on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery and burglary with domestic violence.
Investigators say Pena fled the scene following the attack and could be “armed and dangerous.”
Deputies said they responded to a reported stabbing at around 8:43 a.m. in the area of Northwest 172nd Street and 94th Court.
Upon arrival, deputies said they found a woman on the ground suffering from at least one stab wound.
They said she was transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital and was last listed in stable condition.
Authorities say the attacker is known to the victim, though the exact nature of their relationship remains under investigation.
Pena was last known to reside at a home near the 16000 block of Southwest 143rd Lane, in southwest Miami-Dade’s Country Walk neighborhood.
Detectives said he may be driving a 2016 white Jeep with Florida tag GTLF29 or a 1995 black Suzuki motorcycle with Florida tag 8027RJ.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 or MDSO’s Special Victims Bureau at 305-715-3300.
