According to police, Daniel Pencley, 28, of Miramar, was identified as the suspect in the May 31 shooting and turned himself in to the Broward County Main Jail after being contacted by detectives.

He faces one count of attempted murder.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 2:38 a.m. May 31 following an argument outside Cigar Bar, located at 314 SW 145th Terrace.

Police said a man and woman were standing by their vehicles when they were approached by Pencley.

“The suspect appeared intoxicated, and a verbal confrontation occurred between the suspect and the adult male victim,” PPPD said in a news release. “The suspect then entered his own vehicle, pulled up alongside the victims, and fired 3-4 gunshots in their direction before fleeing the scene.”

Police said the male victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, while the female victim was unharmed.

Further details about the dispute that led to the shooting were not released by police.
